Our magazine turns ninety this year. Like any ninety-year-old, it has seen a lot of changes. Here we take a look at the evolution of Canada's most popular history magazine and let you in on its future. More details

National History Awards 2010 Begbie Contest calls for entries.

Open to all Canadian senior highs, the Begbie Contest challenges students on major events in Canadian history from 1850 to the present, with emphasis on critical thinking skills using primary sources. Available in either language, the registration deadline is March 10, 2010; contest date is April 13, 2010. One prize of $1000 for every 250 entrants! Top English and French recipients get a free trip to Ottawa where they will meet the Governor General. More details.

Ed Rooney, originally of Marshall, Saskatchewan, was nearing his 91st birthday when we profiled him in our 2006 donor newsletter. His enthusiasm for Canadian history made us want to revisit his story in History “love bug” can bite at any age.
