History Matters

Our magazine turns ninety this year.
Like any ninety-year-old, it has seen a lot of changes. Here's a look back on the evolution of what has become Canada's most popular history magazine. Happy 90th Birthday Beaver magazine!

Revised citizenship test more a bridge than a barrier.
Immigrants seeking to become Canadian citizens will be subjected to a new citizenship test beginning in March, following widely publicized changes made to the study guide last fall. Discover more about the changes in Quizzing new Canadians.

Teaching Canada's History
New magazine focuses on history and the classroom by Joel Ralph, Manager, Education and Outreach Programs.

Passionate for Passchendaele
Paul Gross was named the 2009 Pierre Berton Award winner at a special event in Toronto to honour Pierre Berton's legacy and to raise funds for the Berton Writer's Retreat at Berton's childhood home in Dawson City, Yukon. Read more.
